Ronaldinho was born on March 21, 1980, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande Province, Brazil.

Son of João de Assis Moreira and Dona Miguelina Elói Assis dos Santos.
His father was also a footballer, as was his brother Roberto. Part of his upbringing was marked by the death of his father, who drowned in a swimming pool.
Footballer
Ronaldinho took his first steps in futsal, a stage in which he managed to hone his technique to the maximum.
Later, he would join the youth categories of Gremio de Porto Alegre, making his debut at the age of seventeen in the first team. His brother Roberto hung up his boots and became his manager.
Ronaldinho Gaucho
He was renamed " Ronaldinho Gaucho " because he comes from southern Brazil, near Argentina and Uruguay, where cattle ranchers are called gauchos.
Selection
Ronaldinho stood out as champion and top scorer of the U-17 World Cup, Egypt 1997. With the Brazilian U-17 team, he won the U-17 World Cup , being named top scorer and best player of the tournament.
His debut in the major league was against Latvia on 26 June 1999. Along with Ronaldo , he was one of the leading figures of Brazil's five-time champion at the 2002 World Cup in Japan-Korea.
French PSG
In 2001, he arrived in Europe, initially with the French club PSG . However, the lack of understanding with the coach Luis Fernández led to Manchester United, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona becoming interested in him in the summer of 2003.
FC Barcelona
In the summer of 2003, he signed for FC Barcelona . Ronaldinho played his best football in their ranks.
Best Player in the World
He was undisputedly named the best player in the world in 2004. AC Milan
In June 2008, Pep Guardiola , the new coach of FC Barcelona, announced at his presentation that he was not counting on several players from his squad, including Ronaldinho. From Flamengo to Fluminense
On 11 January 2011, he moved to Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro, and on 4 June 2012, his signing for Atlético Mineiro was announced . On 5 September 2014, his signing for Gallos Blancos de Querétaro , a team in the Primera División of Mexico, was made public. On 11 July 2015, Ronaldinho signed with Fluminense until 2016. On 29 September 2015, he left the club.
In 2006, he played in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, and in the 2008 Beijing Games , where he won the bronze medal.
Withdrawal
On October 17, 2019, he made his farewell in a friendly match at the Nemesio Camacho El CampÃn Stadium between Independiente Santa Fe and Atlético Nacional He played 75 minutes with the Santa Fe shirt and number 10.
On December 14, 2020, he was included as a left winger in the second historic Dream Team of the Ballon d'Or.
Detention
In March 2020, he was detained and questioned in Paraguay after allegedly using a fake passport to enter the country. Ronaldinho and his brother were released after months of imprisonment following a plea deal with fines of $90,000 and $110,000, respectively.
