Michel Platini was born on June 21, 1955, at the Genibois Hospital in Joeuf , a small town in Meurthe-et-Moselle (France).
Family
Michel was the second son of Aldo Platini and Anna Piccinelli, an Italian couple who owned a restaurant known for its pastaciutta.
In 1973, he made his professional debut with Nancy.
Juventus of Turin
In 1982, he joined Juventus in Turin.
In 1984, he won the European Championship with France . In addition, in that same year, he won the League title with Juventus, and a year later, the European Cup for Clubs .
In 1986, Juventus won the Intercontinental Cup, and the following year, he left the field of play.
With the national team, he was the third highest scorer in history (41 goals), being captain fifty times between 1979 and 1987. His first international trophy was the Euro 1984 after the final against Spain by 2-0; he was twice a semi-finalist in the World Cup in 1982 and 1986.
Scorer of 356 goals during his career, he is the first footballer to win the Ballon d'Or three times in a row and is considered one of the best footballers in history.

UEFA President
On 26 January 2007, during the XXXI Ordinary UEFA Congress in Düsseldorf, he was elected president of the organisation.
Together with Joseph Blatter, he was suspended by the FIFA Ethics Committee for a period of eight years from all football-related activities. On 24 February 2016, the FIFA Court of Appeal reduced the suspension to six years. On 9 May 2016, a further decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the suspension to four years.
Arrest
Former UEFA president Michel Platini was arrested on Tuesday 18 June 2019 in Nanterre, a French municipality bordering Paris, as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in the awarding 2022 World Cup to Qatar. He was released without charge after 15 hours of questioning as part of investigations into alleged corruption in the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar by the organisation of Euro 2016 in France.
